Local law enforcement attends 2014 Texas Robbery Conference

Posted: Updated:

Law enforcement from across the country met in Austin Wednesday to learn how to better tackle robbery investigations.

The 2014 Texas Robbery Conference is being held at the Omni Hotel downtown over the next two and a half days.

It's a chance for law enforcement agencies and members of the private industry to work together. They receive training on robbery prevention, response, and aftermath duties from some of the best in the industry.

Around 250 people attended Wednesday morning.

Several top leaders, like APD Chief Art Acevedo and Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks, received an award by the Robbery Investigators of Texas.

RIOT is the only robbery association of its kind in Texas.
