Talk about throwing like a girl - Beyond the Chicago boys of Jackie Robinson West who are making a splash in the Little League World Series, there is another player making a name for herself.

13-year-old Mo'ne Davis of Philadelphia's Taney Youth Baseball Association Little League is blowing everyone away at the tournament.

Davis is only the 17th girl to play in the Little League World Series in 68 years and she is the only girl to play in this year's Little League World Series.

The young female pitcher throws at 70 miles per hour and struck out eight people in a complete shutout Friday night. The Wall Street Journal reports it was the first shutout thrown by a female pitcher in Little League World Series history.

According to a report from ESPN, Davis may be young, but her accomplishments are already inspiring young baseball players both older and younger than her.

Philadelphia's next game will be Wednesday against Las Vegas, the team that defeated Chicago's Jackie Robinson team Sunday.
