Austin woman dies days after being pulled from Comal River

New Braunfels officials say a 26-year-old Austin resident who was pulled from the Comal River on Saturday, Aug. 2, has passed away.

Officials say Kathryn Walker was pulled from the river at the last tubers exit located at the intersection of E. Lincoln Street and S. Union Ave. Officers say she was not breathing when she was located. CPR was in progress by other tubers when officers arrived.

Walker did possess vital signs while being treated by paramedics and was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, Walker passed away.

An autopsy has been ordered and will be conducted by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.
