Southwest Agent Removes Passenger All Because Of A Tweet

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - A Minnesota man was forced to get off a Southwest Airlines Flight because of a tweet.

Duff Watson says the humiliating ordeal began Sunday July 20th, when he and his two children tried to board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis.

Watson says he has priority boarding because he’s an “A-list customer.”

But when he went to the gate, the agent wouldn’t allow his two children to board with him.

Watson eventually tweeted about the horrible experience.

The tweet stated, “Something to the effect of wow, rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39, not happy, @SWA. ”

That’s when an agent asked Watson and his children to leave the plane.

“She said her safety feels threatened because of what I tweeted” said Watson.

Throughout the conflict, Watson says “there was no use of profanity, there were no threats made, nothing other than you know a terse exchange between a customer service agent and a customer...”

The agent allegedly wouldn’t let the family back onto the plane until the tweet was deleted. 


While watching the altercation occur Watson daughter Lucy said, “She said I'm going to call the cops I thought something bad was going to happen, like my dad was going to jail.”


Reportedly, he deleted the tweet and continued on to Minneapolis. Southwest Airlines says they are reviewing the matter.
