HOUSTON (AP) - Investigators are seeking a man who allegedly raped a woman at her Houston-area home, stole her cellphone and then someone else tried to sell the device.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday appealed to the public for help in locating the man who attacked a 63-year-old woman on June 20.
The victim reported a man kicked in the patio door of her apartment and sexually assaulted her. He then fled with her cellphone and other personal items.
The case took a turn July 6 when a woman walked into a nearby store and tried to sell the victim's cellphone. Deputies have described that woman as a person of interest being sought as authorities try to identify and locate the attacker.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers of Houston.
