Georgetown Police say emergency crews responded to Russell Park a little after 5 p.m. Sunday for a possible double drowning. By the time they arrived, two siblings, a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old, were apparently pulled out of about two to three feet of water by witnesses. CPR was in progress.
The children were airlifted to Dell Children's Hospital where they were pronounced dead around 6:30 p.m.
The children's family members were on scene at the time of the accident. We're told the children were just about 10 to 15 feet out when they went missing. The girl was believed to be underwater for about five minutes, while the boy was reportedly underwater for about 15 minutes.
