Made in Michigan: Butcher on the Block sausages

Butcher on the Block sausages are available at your local specialty grocer and they're made right here in Michigan.  They suggest using their bratwurst in these recipes.

Chicken Spinach Mozzarella Brat Fettuccine and Asparagus

4               Chicken Brats Sliced
1 lb.          Asparagus cut into 1 inch pieces
1/4 cup     Chopped parsley
2 qts.        Alfredo Sauce
1 cup        Shredded Parmesan Cheese

On medium heat, add the following to a sauce pan: Chicken brats, asparagus and Alfredo sauce. Cook until asparagus is tender. Mix pasta, parsley and cheese. Serve in a pasta bowl and top with cheese.

Taco Bratwurst

4             Taco Brats sliced thin
1 pack     Tortillas
1/2          Red Onion sliced
2 cups     Shredded Romaine Lettuce
6 oz         Mexican Shredded Cheese
1             Large Tomato Chopped
1             Jar of Salsa
3 T          Vegetable Oil

In a skillet add: Vegetable oil, red onion and brats. Cook until tender. Add mixture to tortilla and top with Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and salsa. For Quesadilla use 12" tortillas. Lay out on a grill or frying pan. Add cheese and any toppings. Cook until brown and then fold in half. Cut into quarters.

Bacon Cheddar Brat Lettuce Wraps

4      Bacon Brats sliced lengthwise
2      Slice tomatoes
1      Sliced onion
3      Kosher dill pickles sliced thin
1      Bag Romaine hearts
Ketchup, mustard, mayo

Cook sliced brats on the grill until brown. Take a Romaine leaf and top with 1 strip of bacon brat, 1 sliced tomato cut in half, onions and pickles. Add choice of condiments, roll and serve.

Jalapeño Cheddar Bratwurst Cheese Dip

4                 Jalapeño Brats Sliced
1                 Brick of Velveeta Cheese
1 qt   Heavy Cream
1/3 Cup       Dijon Mustard

In a skillet, cool Jalapeño sliced brats until heated. In a thick bottom sauce pan add heavy cream, Velveeta cheese and Dijon mustard. Cook until melted (stirring often). Serve with raw vegetables, chips, crackers or French bread.

Portabella Swiss Brat Stir Fry

4           Portabella Swiss Brats
1            Small Bag of Pea Pods
1            Small Onion Chopped
1            Red Pepper Chopped
1            Small Can Water Chestnuts
1            Small Container Sliced Shiitake Mushrooms
1/2 c       Peanut Oil
              Teriyaki Glaze
              Toasted Seasame SeSesamections:
In a wok, heat peanut oil. When peanut oil is hot, slowly add all ingredients (Except teriyaki glaze and toasted sesame seeds). Toss or stir until soft. Add teriyaki glaze. Remove from pan and place over cooked brown or white rice. Finish with toasted sesame seeds.

Philly Cheese Steak Bratwurst

4            Philly Cheese Steak Brat
4            French Rolls Sliced
1/2         Red Bell Peppers Cut into strips
1/2         Green Bell Pepper Cut into strips
2            Cups Shredded Mozzarella
3T          Vegetable Oil

Heat in the skillet vegetable oil. Add sliced onion, peppers and cook until soft. Heat Philly Cheese Steak Brats in the same pan. Place Brat in the French roll and top with vegetables. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
