Secretary of Defense calls U.S. soccer goalkeeper Tim Howard

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON (KMSP) -

U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel called U.S. Men's National Team goalkeeper Tim Howard on Wednesday to thank him for defending the United States of America at the World Cup.

Yes, that is an actual bulletin from the U.S. Department of Defense.

“Secretary Hagel congratulated Howard on his record-breaking game and a great run in Brazil,” the Pentagon said.

Howard and the entire U.S. soccer team have been invited to visit the Pentagon later this year, and Hagel apparently told Howard that with some training, he could someday become the real Secretary of Defense.
