Special Olympics: gymnastics

Posted: Updated:

Three athletes and two coaches make up New Jersey's Special Olympics gymnastics team. They call themselves the Fab 5. Coach Donna Roberto says they've been training for the last 9 months.

The athletes -- Alyssa Sims, Courtney Muns, and Molly Hebert -- were among the 32 participants involved in the gymnastics competition.

From the vault, to the bars, beam and floor exercises, Alyssa Sims says the games have helped her build confidence.

This is Molly Hebert's sixth games. Doctors once told her parents that she wouldn't walk. Her mother says that watching her is a blessing.

The Fab 5 has improved as a team. And coach says they consider all their fellow athletes to be part of the family.
