Search continues for teen swept away in Waco area creek
Police in Waco are still looking for an 18-year-old who may have been swept away in a creek Thursday night.
Police used the McLennan County Sheriff's Office helicopter and found the teen's car this morning, but not him. They say windows are broken out and it looks as if the gray vehicle rolled several times.
The driver, 18-year-old Lacharles Montgomery, called his family last night, saying that his car drifted off the road and into a creek. The family then called police. Police say they had to shut down Old Hewitt Dr. because of the flooding.
"Officers started getting reports that he had made phone calls to home indicating that he was in his car being swept down the creek. At this point, we have not had any further contact with that young man," Swanton said.
Authorities are now also using bloodhounds to help search for the teen.
