Woman arrested after boyfriend hit with hot food

Posted: Updated:

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A West Haven woman has been arrested on charges she broke into her former boyfriend's apartment and assaulted him with a frying pan filled with hot oil and food.

The New Haven Register reports 33-year-old Madeline Roque was charged Thursday with assault, burglary and disorderly conduct.

Police say the victim was cooking when Roque entered his home on Sunday. They say he suffered second-degree burns when she grabbed the pan he was using and threw it at him, striking him in the back. The man, whose name was not released, was treated at a local hospital.

Roque is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if she has hired an attorney.
