A man is charged with intoxication manslaughter nearly six months after police say he caused a crash that killed two elderly people.
According to court documents, a pickup truck and a mini-van were both driving eastbound on Highway 71.
DPS says the pickup truck rear-ended the minivan underneath Highway 130.
The minivan burst into flames, killing 79-year-old Bobbie Roberts and 84-year-old Billy Roberts.
William Lawrence, 25, was driving the pickup. He's now charged with intoxication manslaughter.
Troopers on scene say Lawrence told them he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel and they believe he may have been intoxicated.
A blood test came back negative for alcohol in January. But earlier this month a toxicology report showed PCP and opiates in Lawrence's blood.
