PHOENIX (KSAZ) - She's been looking for her birth mother since she was a teenager, now at 53 she's turning to social media hoping to find her family.

Suzanne Carter knows she was born in Phoenix but other than that she hardly has any information.

Her family later moved to Utah; she's hoping the right person will see her picture and lead her to her family.

"I want to tell her thank you she did the best thing she could do for me I had wonderful loving parents, and I knew every day of my life that they loved me and that they took care me," said Suzanne Carter.

Suzanne Carter turned to Facebook to help find the woman who gave her up for adoption. She posted a picture on February 15th of this year. So far Facebook users have shared it 5,531 times but that hasn't been enough to help find her birth family.

"I really do want to know where I came from," she said.

Suzanne knows very little about the beginning of her life. She does know she was born on January 24th, 1961 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. When she was just a few days old, her family moved her to Snowflake, Arizona.

"We lived in Arizona until I was four, I believe that's where all my dads family is, my dad is originally from Snowflake. We moved to Utah and my dad was a school teacher and my mom was a registered nurse," said Carter.

Suzanne has also learned she was born at 6:38 p.m., delivered by Dr. Charles M. Cooke, and she was adopted through LDS Social Services.

Carter now has four children of her own, and she wants to know if she could pass on medical conditions. She also says finding her parents and possible siblings would fill a hole in her heart.

"I have faith, and I think that if this is meant to be it's gonna happen and hopefully out there there's someone looking for me," she said.

Suzanne's email address is squezean@yahoo.com if you have any information on who her birth mother is.
