LIRR service normal after freight train derailment

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A freight train with New York & Atlantic Railway derailed at Jamaica Station in Queens Wednesday afternoon, caused problems on LIRR service. Travelers dealt with delays and cancellations on all branches except the Port Washington branch.

Three cars on the freight train derailed just before 3 p.m., according to officials. The train was heading west.

One track was out of service, seven were still in operation, officials said.

Service was back to normal late Wednesday

No one was hurt.

New York & Atlantic Railway is a private railroad that operates 13 locomotives on LIRR's tracks, according to its website.
