Actor Alec Baldwin arrested in Manhattan

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Actor Alec Baldwin was taken into police custody on Tuesday for riding his bicycle in the wrong direction along 5th Ave. in Manhattan, said police.

The former '30 Rock' star was stopped by police officers at about 10:15 a.m. near 16th Street and asked to provide identification. When he couldn't produce ID, police say, Baldwin became belligerent and argued with the officers. He was arrested and taken to the 13th precinct.

In Touch published a photograph showing Baldwin in handcuffs.

He was issued two summonses for going the wrong way in traffic and disorderly conduct.

Baldwin was later released from police custody along with his bike.

A few hours later, he took to Twitter to vent:

"@ABFalecbaldwin New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign. "

?"Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing."

The 55-year-old married father has made headlines before for run-ins with reporters -including two FOX 5 News reporters- and a photographer.

Earlier this year, he penned an article for New York Magazine where he vowed to leave public life and New York City.

In 2011, Baldwin, a Long Island native, was kicked off an American Airlines flight in Los Angeles because he refused to turn off his phone.

On his Twitter account, Baldwin wrote, "Flight attendant on American [Airlines] reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving."

The shootout happened near West 4th Street and Jones Street. Speaking at a news conference, Mayor Bill de Blasio said the marshals and cop were taken to a local hospital with apparently non-life threatening injuries.
