The defending 3A pole vault state champ, Wimberley’s Kally Long repeated in dominating fashion at the UIL State and Track meet in Austin.
Long cleared 13 feet 2 inches over a foot and a half better than the silver medalist and set a new class 3A state record.
"That’s huge because I know who set the state record before me and I love her but I wanted to break it! Like that was my goal," Long said. "This is the best feeling in the world. I got so many goose bumps all over! I'd been wanting that for a while, I wanted it last year but I got it this year so that was good!”
