Teens Dress Up As Flintstone Characters To Avoid Charges

Posted: Updated:

Sacramento, Calif.-People venturing to World’s Best Comics and Toys for Free Comic Book Day on Saturday got an unexpected treat.

Standing and cheering at Watt intersection were three teens, dressed up as Fred, Barney and Wilma from the Flintstones.

Police say the three stole the store’s “Flintmobile” in December. Police found video of the teens carrying the car into the bed of a truck and taking off.

Police were able to recover the car in January and store owner, Dave Downey, never pressed charges.

However, he did ask the teens to work for him on Free Comic Book Day, which is the store’s busiest day.

The teens agreed.

"I'm glad that we can instead of having a normal punishment, we can give back to them instead," said one of the teens, who was dressed up as Wilma.

Downey is thrilled to have the "Flintmobile" back.
