Honey Tree's Spinach Pie

(WJBK) - Get the recipe for spinach pie courtesy of The Honey Tree, one of the restaurants taking part in Sterling Heights Restaurant Week happening now through Friday, May 9.

Honey Tree's Spinach Pie

Ingredients
2 blocks frozen spinach (squeeze liquid)
2 large diced onions
1/2 bunch green onions
4 oz. fresh dill
2 lbs. feta cheese
1 lb. cottage cheese
Garlic, salt, pepper
10 eggs
Phyllo dough 
Butter

Method
Saute diced onions, green onions in vegetable oil
In mixing bowl, add spinach, onions, feta & cottage cheese, and dill
Brush butter on baking pan
Use 4 layers of phyllo dough to cover the entire pan with sides of dough hanging off the pan (overhanging dough will be used to overlap mixture)
Add spinach mixture and spread to cover entire pan
Fold overhanging dough over filling
Brush more butter on top layer
Add 10 more sheets of phyllo dough (brush butter between every 2 sheets of dough)
Brush butter on top layer
Bake pie in 350 degrees for 2 hours
