AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide more than $1.2 million for recovery from last October's deadly flooding in the Austin area.

FEMA on Thursday announced grants are available to reimburse eligible government entities for costs associated with response and infrastructure repairs. The funding applies to officials in Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Freestone counties.

At least six people died in the Central Texas flooding that caused an estimated $100 million in damage to Travis County and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes.

FEMA says additional funding is expected in the coming weeks as federal authorities work with government entities to review and approve eligible projects.
