Austin Police say a man used an ice cream truck to lure a young girl inside and sexually assault her. Given the circumstances of what happened APD is concerned there could be more victims.
"He was using his ice cream truck and his business as a front," said Child Abuse Unit Detective Brandon Poe. The victim, who is 11 years old, was assaulted at least three separate times according to police. This happened in the 1700 block of SH-71 at the Tejas Mobile Plaza.
Benigno Flores, 53, lives and runs his ice cream business in the mobile home park. He was arrested Monday night and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child which is a first degree felony. He's jailed on a $150,000 bond. Flores is also known to go by Danny.
"He was driving to other locations what those locations were we don't know. I believe at this point he stayed somewhat centered around where he lived but he could have been anywhere," said Poe.
Poe wants families around the area to be aware of the case and come forward if they have any information about possible victims.
Flores has an ICE detainer. Police say he was either in the process of being deported or was deported and made it back to Texas. The trucks have expired permits from the City of Austin.
