Group creates 'anti-thigh gap' jeans for muscular type

Posted: Updated:

Pretty soon you'll be able to buy a pair of jeans specially designed for muscular thighs and well-defined derrieres.

A group of friends out of Nevada are behind the Kickstarter Campaign. These jeans are not meant to slim, lift of diminish your size. The owners call them the "anti-thigh gap" jeans.

Everyone you know owns a pair, but sometimes jeans just don't fit right.

"I'm a photographer right, and once I was doing a photo shoot and right in the beginning I jumped up on this ledge and my pants just totally ripped in half," said Eric Bykowski.

"In elementary school we were playing spin the bottle and I was sitting Indian style and my crotch ripped," said Matt Montalvo.

Five friends in Nevada have the same physique.

"We pretty much all lift," Bykowski said.

They spend about 20 hours a week in the gym, giving them some pretty massive lower bodies.

"It's something we've all thought at least once or twice, why doesn't someone make pants that fit?" said Hunter Molzen of Barbell Apparel.

Measurements from their friends and family revealed they didn't match jean sizes and cuts available right now and they're not the only ones.

"Every time I get a pair of jeans it's always the legs are too narrow or the waist is too big," Bykowski said.

Their Kickstarter Campaign exceeded their original goal of $15,000 in 47 minutes.

"People who want pants like this, pants built for people like them, has been overwhelming," said Molzen.

They already have about 3,000 orders on hold, waiting for production.

"Tracking down a premium denim that allows people to move was challenging, but we managed to do it," said Molzen.

There's some extra stretch material included in the denim that's the secret.

"They can do anything they would normally do in workout clothes, in these jeans," said Molzen.

They're calling it functional denim, so embarrassing moments don't happen to you.

"I got used to doing lunges in my jeans to get them loose and that's not always a good idea," FOX 7’s Alex Villarreal said.

"I actually have a real good one. I was actually mountain biking with some friends and I went off of a jump and landed. And my jeans split right up the center, almost in half. I had to walk probably five miles back to the car pretty much pant less." Molzen said.

In one month the Kickstarter Campaign ends and customers will be sent size survey. You can donate in any amount. But, it's $109 for one pair or $199 for two pairs and a shirt. Delivery coming by July.
