The family of Raychelle McCoy, 24, was in shock Saturday after learning the mother of two who was three months pregnant was shot and killed in front of her young son. Police say McCoy and her ex-boyfriend, the father of the children (who the family identified as Steve Treadwell, 25) began arguing outside of his home on Kelly Street. Witnesses say Treadwell first fired gunshots into the air in anger. Witnesses say he also threw a large brick into Mccoy's windshield hitting her in the face. She got out and threw a brick through the window of the house and that's when witnesses say she was shot and killed.

Detroit police tell Fox 2 Treadwell is in custody. A gun was recovered at the scene. McCoy's family says he should have been locked up years ago for domestic violence. The victim leaves behind two sons ages 4 and 6.
