Texas Finishes Off Another Big 12 Sweep, Rips OU 8-1
The Texas baseball team continued to click on all cylinders Sunday in Norman, resulting in yet another Big 12 series sweep.
Behind a complete game from starting pitcher Nathan Thornhill and a 15-hit attack from their lineup, the Longhorns (29-8, 9-3) made it three wins in three days against rival Oklahoma with an 8-1 win over the Sooners.
After failing to win a conference series for almost two years, including their first Big 12 series this season against Kansas, Texas has now won three straight conference series, sweeping the last two. They've also won seven-straight conference games and 14 of their last 16 overall.
Thornhill struck out six in nine innings to improve his perfect record to 6-0, while Mark Payton lead the offense with three hits. Brooks Marlow lead off the game with a home run.
