Wilco deputy resigns after DWI conviction

Posted: Updated:

Lt. John Foster has resigned from the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, just one day after he was found guilty of driving while intoxicated.

Foster was the public information officer for the department.

Foster had been suspended without pay from the department while his case went through the system.

He was sentenced to 3 days in jail, and was given a one day credit for time served. He will also have to pay court costs.

Foster had a .09 blood alcohol content when he was arrested last June.

His attorneys argued the trooper who pulled him over didn't follow proper procedures.
