Spring cleaning tips to de-clutter your life

Maybe you need to watch the TV show "Hoarders Buried Alive" to motivate to do your spring cleaning. But interior designer Guillaume Gentet says you should be inspired by how you will feel when it is over. Before you even open your closet he suggests opening the windows and start cleaning. Next hit the floors.

Next: time to pare down your wardrobe. Rule of thumb: if you haven't worn it in two years' time to toss or give clothes in good condition to charity.

Guillaume has another tip take your winter coats and clothes and put them in your empty suitcases. Dry cleaners will also store for until the next season.

Next: what to do about all those toys your child has outgrown? While some hospitals and schools won't take them, many charities will. Just Google it.

And what about your tired computer and all those chargers that don't work with your new device? It will cost you, but pay to have your personal information removed and then recycle.

If all this too overwhelming to think about, don't worry there's an app for that. There are actually spring cleaning apps. The Rumgr iPhone app allows you to take a picture of each item that you want to sell and post it immediately to an online marketplace.

The Cleaning Manual iPhone app will guide you on stain removal. When stains are left on clothes for too long, they can become impossible to remove.

The Clean Freak iPhone app helps you break down your chore list into small sections, allowing you to tackle one chore at a time, each day.

Now there is always storage space, but that only means you will have double the cleaning next year.

If you really can't give it away or sell it, you can always put it out on the sidewalk as so many other New Yorkers do.

Police say they're investigating a large brawl that broke out at the end of a wedding reception held over the weekend at a suburban Buffalo country club. Officials tell local media that seven different police agencies were called in late Saturday to break up the fight at the Orchard Park Country Club. Officers say dozens of the approximately 200 guests were involved in the melee, which broke out after a member of the wedding party was tossed off the premises for inappropriate behavior.
