APD detectives say 150 apartment burglaries have now been solved with the arrests of brothers, Dennis Webb and Patrick king.
"This is, this is a big number," APD Detective Evonne McGuire said.
Detective McGuire says for the past year she worked the cases non-stop.
"From reports that we had we started seeing trends in how the burglaries were being performed," McGuire said.
McGuire says victims all lived in apartments and had their doors pried open.
On February 23, McGuire said officers were doing surveillance on the two and caught them in the act at the Bell Austin Southwest Apartments.
McGuire says when questioned, the men admitted to doing some of the crimes.
"They basically said that they were needing money," McGuire said. "It is our belief a lot of the items were sold on the street, but we do believe some items were sold online."
King told officers he served as the driver, taking Webb to apartments from Round Rock to Kyle so that he could break in.
McGuire says one person reported $45,000 worth of missing items. Officers recovered some missing property in the suspects' homes.
Most of the victims have been identified. Officers are working to contact the rest.
Police were able to get some of the items back to the rightful owner they say because of serial numbers. They encourage you to keep a record of all serial numbers. Many of the stolen goods were sold before officers could recover them.
