Trial begins for Wilco deputy accused of drunk driving
The drunk driving trial for a Williamson County deputy began Monday.
The alleged incident happened on June 29th of last year.
Lieutenant John Foster was pulled over by a DPS trooper on I-35 near Jarrell after someone called in a reckless driver.
Foster's defense attorneys are claiming perjury, saying the arresting trooper lied about following standard procedure in a drunk driving case. So therefore foster's constitutional rights were violated.
Foster served as the spokesman for the Williamson County Sheriff's Office. He's been under suspension since his arrest.
