New Alleged Victims Accuse Delco Teacher of Sexual Abuse

Posted: Updated:

A teacher already accused of sexually assaulting his students faces more trouble. Police just revealed new alleged victims have come forward and there are new charges in the case.

54-year-old Paul E. Hochschwender was arraigned on more charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors.

The arraignment happened right across from the Darby Township School where the alleged crimes took place.

Now 5 more alleged victims emerge claiming inappropriate touching by the 2nd grade teacher, police say.

Hochschwender said nothing as he left court with his attorney.

He surrendered earlier today to the additional charges accusing him of inappropriately touching several girls right in front of their classmates.

Most of the alleged victims are just 7 years old.

The suspect is already facing similar charges issued last month when three girls brought forth similar claims.

"One child tells us that when she was learning to write cursive, the defendant would come up, touch her in the private area, offer her a piece of candy and put that piece of candy in her pocket. She tells us "this happens commonly to my friends," District Attorney Jack Whelan said.

We spoke with the suspect's attorney.

"The message that I have as his lawyer is that people need to keep in mind that he is presumed innocent. We will litigate the case in the court room," Attorney Arthur Donato Jr. said.

The bail was set at $50,000, 10%. The suspect did pay that bail. He is out awaiting further court appearances.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
