Community helping find a cure for childhood cancer
Thousands of children in Texas are battling cancer, but they aren't doing it alone. The community is helping find a cure.
Buzzing and clipping are not normal sounds heard at a hospital but Saturday Dell Children's Medical Center was transformed into a hair salon for a good cause. Nearly 200 people signed up to shave off their locks for the annual St. Baldrick's Fair. The fair is held nationwide, and raises funds and awareness about pediatric cancer. one team says they are embracing the bald in honor of Dr. Gregory Krause. Krause was a beloved pediatric physician at the hospital who passed away March 13th after a tragic car accident in East Austin. For many others, they where there because each day of their lives is a constant battle with cancer. Every year, nearly 100 kids are diagnosed with cancer at Dell Children's Hospital. More than $8 thousand was raised Saturday.
