Hail falls on Central Texas

Posted: Updated:

Rain pounded parts Williamson County and hail fell in Austin and surrounding areas. In a matter of 30 minutes the sky went from being dark black to a calm, clear blue

Hail, rain and power outages - that's what resulted from a brief, but severe thunderstorm Friday.

Hail fell from storm clouds across Central Texas bouncing from Austin to Round Rock, Georgetown and even to Salado and Killeen.

A power outage near I-35 west, from south 1st & Dittmar, north to William Cannon affected more than 1,700 customers, according to Austin Energy.

And just as quickly as the storm rolled in, a double rainbow emerged through the clouds, as the storm began to dissipate.
