After a one-year absence, the Texas Longhorns are back in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Texas (23-10) is the 7-seed in the Midwest Region and will face 10-seed Arizona State Thursday in Milwaukee. Should the Longhorns win their second round match up against the Sun Devils, a match-up with 2-seed Michigan is likely on Saturday.
Texas is one of four teams from the state to make this year's field, along with Baylor (West Region 6-seed), Stephen F. Austin (South Region 12-seed), and Texas Southern (16-seed play-in game). No Texas teams made the 2013 tournament. One notable snub from this year's bracket is SMU. The Mustangs, despite a 23-9 record, were left out of the tournament. They were widely expected to make their first tournament appearance since 1993.
