Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are warning South Shore residents of multiple related armed robberies in the area this month.

Multiple times throughout March, a man and a teenage boy showing a dark steel handgun have approached people and announced a robbery between the 6900-7100 blocks of South Stony Island Avenue and Jeffrey Avenue, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

One of the alleged robbers, believed to be 20 to 30 years old, is described as a 170 to 200-pound, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 black man, the alert said. He was last seen wearing a ski mask and dark clothing.

The other suspect is described as a 15 to 17-year-old black teenage boy with dreadlocks, last seen wearing a dark jacket and beige pants, the alert said.

Anyone with information on the robberies should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
