Us Airways flight 678 was traveling from Tampa, Florida to phoenix and was passing over Houston, when the child stopped breathing.
Witnesses say the child had turned purple when two passengers with medical training rushed forward and saved the baby's life.
A flight passenger recalls, "I saw a gentleman rushing towards the front, they needed help and we were told a baby was in distress."
She continues, "They immediately went to work and called for anybody who had medical training. There are people that assisted and we're told there would be an emergency landing and everything went smoothly. Everyone was invested and we heard the baby cry, it was a teary moment for everyone."
Another passenger said, "It was a miracle on Flight6 78. God put those folks on the plane and they needed them there to take care of the baby."
The plane made an emergency landing in Houston so the child could receive medical care.
There is no word on the baby's condition.
