Cat Traps Family In Bedroom

Posted: Updated:

A big cat with a bigger mean streak.

Police arrive at a Portland home after a very unusual call.

"Lux," a twenty-two pound black and white Himalayan cat, clawed an eight-month-old baby in the face.

When the owners swatted the cat away from their child the cat went crazy! It started hissing, screeching and chasing the family around the house.

The parents barricaded themselves in a bedroom with the infant and family dog, who was also afraid of the crazy kitty.

They tried to call animal control, but no one answered so they called 911.

Police arrived and were able to contain the out-of-control cat in the kitchen.

Since the baby wasn't hurt, everyone is finding a little humor in the ferocious feline.

"It's only funny when it's not happening to you. When this happens to you, I assure you, you will do the same thing," says the cat owner, Teresa Barker.

Lux has been acting fine since the incident but the owners are not sure whether or not they'll keep him.
