Red carpets, technology, "Grumpy Cat," Lady Gaga, Coldplay...it's all part of the ever-growing South By Southwest happening right now.
But if you live in Austin year round and you don't have a wristband, chances are you hate SXSW!
And don't worry...there's an app for that.
Austin advertising agency GSD&M has come up with just the thing -- a web-based app that will help you "avoid humans."
No, really that's the name of it -- Avoid Humans.
"It felt like this year the trend might have been a little bit of 'over crowdedness' going on with South By so we just decided to have a little fun with that," said group creative director Scott Brewer.
Brewer says one of their new hires came up with the idea. It uses Four Square "check-in" data to determine where you can escape to with as few check-ins as possible.
"I think it's just that human truth about social media in general and overly checking in in places. And so we've used that to our advantage to kind of help people find the opposite," Brewer said.
When you're ready to be a loner, just hit "Start Avoiding" -- if a place is green it says the crowd is "comparable to the number of vegans at Franklin Barbecue."
And if it's not the people, it's the traffic.
We didn't even get to finish interviewing downtown businessman Rene Valadez -- his getaway car just rolled up.
"I just want to get out of town as quickly as I possibly can," he said.
You could say A.J. Folouis drives in this mess for a living...he's a courier.
"Yeah it's the worst two weeks of the year for me, yeah. All the other festivals and everything work out real good so this is just the one," Folouis said.
It even hurts him in the pocketbook.
"We don't do anywhere near as much business because of these things. But like I said it's probably good for somebody, not good for us," he said.
