Datsyuk out, Legwand in as Wings shuffle roster

The Red Wings got some bad news as the trade deadline approached and made a deal to try and keep their playoff hopes alive despite now missing their two top players.  With Henrik Zetterberg already out, the team also announced that it will be shutting down Pavel Datsyuk for the next three weeks.  He has been dealing with an injured knee although no surgery is scheduled at this time.

The Wings did add a center in Grosse Pointe Native David Legwand, who comes over from Nashville.  Detroit gave up Patrick Eaves, a third round pick and prospect Calle Jarnkrok.  Legwand has played with the Predators his entire career and this season has 10 goals and 30 assists in 62 games.  He is expected to make his debut for the Wings on Thursday night against Colorado.
