Tuesday's Meal: Spicy BBQ Shrimp

In honor of Fat Tuesday, HEB's Emily Madden stopped by the Good Day Austin kitchen to help us make a tasty cajun-inspired dish.

Recipe: Spicy BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 jar new orleans bbq shrimp mix
  • 3 tbsp minced shallots
  • 4 oz butter
  • 1 lemon, juiced (remove seeds and keep the lemon)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions

  1. Heat skillet over med-high heat, then add butter. 
  2. When butter has melted, add shallots and cook for about 1 minute. 
  3. Add in shrimp and BBQ shrimp mix, cook for about 45 seconds, reduce heat to medium.
  4. Flip shrimp and add in lemon juice and lemon. 
  5. Cook for 30 seconds, then add in heavy cream and cook for 45 seconds. 
  6. Serve over rice with bread.
