Speeding car wrecks out killing one

Posted: Updated:

A woman is dead and a man is in jail after his speeding sports car flipped and hit a light pole in Northeast Travis County.  According to the Travis County sheriff's office, just before four this morning a silver Infiniti sped past a patrol sergeant in the 32-hundred block of East Parmer Lane.
The driver, 27-year-old Ruben Munoz, then turned onto Cameron Road--running a red light and almost hitting a car.
The sergeant says he tried to catch up with Munoz--reaching top speeds of 115 miles per hour but was unable to do so.
The sergeant kept driving on Cameron Road when he found the Infiniti wrecked.
It appears Munoz lost control and hit a utility pole.
A female passenger in the car was killed.
Munoz was taken to UMC Brackenridge for minor injuries.
He has been charged with felony manslaughter.
