The new Seton Breast Care Center is now open at Seton Medical Center in Central Austin.
The facility offers person-centered care and support in one location. It combines the latest technology with personal attention and emotional support through each patient's cancer journey.
"It is tremendously patient friendly. It does not feel like a clinic. It does not feel like you're coming here to have something horrible done to you. It feels like a spa. And there's nothing like a breast cancer experience that is spa-like. But the fact that you can have a breast cancer procedure that is lifesaving undergone here where it feels less invasive you know is tremendously helpful in getting women to get the appropriate screenings that they can and the appropriate intervention to have early breast cancer diagnosis which increases the chances of cure," Medical Director Of Seton Breast Cancer Center Dr. Debra Patt said.
The center has everything from breast cancer screenings, several treatment options, emotional support and counseling. It took about three years to complete and cost more than $6.5 million to complete.
