Swedesboro Mother Claims Her 5-Year-Old Son Was Bullied

Posted: Updated:
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, N.J. -

A Gloucester County mother says her 5-year-old is being repeatedly bullied in school and she says she can't get anything done about it. She told FOX 29 that her son has been having trouble all year.

Mandy Hoffman showed FOX 29's Thalia Perez some of the abuse that her 5-year old son has endured at the hands of a kindergarten student.

Hoffman says she has been reporting the bad behavior to school officials for months and nothing has been done. She tells us during one recent incident the student spit in her son's face.

"My son is so scared of this child. He won't stand up to him because he says ‘Mommy I'm afraid he's gonna hurt me and I'm going to get in trouble," Hoffman said.

Little Daniel says he's usually picked on while he waits for the bus

" We at the bus stop waiting for the bus and he hit me," Daniel said.

We reached out to school superintendent Dr Victor Valeski. He said in a statement to FOX 29...

The Swedesboro-Woolwich School District cannot and will not comment on any student matter, including any element of an ongoing Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) investigation. The District treats every report of harassment, intimidation and bullying very seriously.

Hoffman insists she was told the investigation is complete when she received this letter.

"It was found that my son was not bullied because this child did not go to with the intent to hurt my son," Hoffman said. "I am so angry that a school could not protect the students that go there."

Hoffman says she is considering taking her son out of the school and moving out of the district.
