Walt Disney World Will Raise Ticket Prices For The Second Time

Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL will raise ticket prices second time this year.

According to Disney World, the tickets for Magic Kingdom Park will now cost $99, an increase of $4.

A ticket to Disney's EPCOT, Animal Kingdom Park, or Hollywood Studios will now run one adult ticket at $94.

With the current economy, some Disney enthusiasts might just be forced to scale back their visit with this slight price increase.

Parenting blogs have already discussed their concerns towards Disney ticket costs.

"I know this is all big ‘ol first world problems and we are very lucky to be alive and well[,] but I still want to be on vacation right now. And I want to be on vacation in a place with sterile yet beautifully art-directed landscaping and bright colors and happy people wearing unfortunate footwear and buffet restaurants that aren't scary at all and actually have pretty decent food and feature surprise guests like princesses and giant mice," writes Eve Vawter with excitement towards a Disney Resort stay.

However, she continues with, "I know there are times of the year that are more reasonable to go and that they offer times when you get a free dining plan and all that, but right now all I can afford is the occasional movie matinee with all of these people I live with."

Yelp even has an entire forum discussing the high prices, questioning whether it's worth it to stretch pennies and make it work.

Kelly K. theorizes that Disney is trying to attract a special clientele, "Disneyland is reaching max capacity a lot these days. They don't want to turn away rich tourists who can afford to go AND buy lots of food and souvenirs because they let in a bunch of broke people with PB&J's in their backpacks."

Zenny Z. remarks, simply, that parents and kids give up the elusive dream, "Parents need to lay the law and tell their screaming kids that they are never ever going to Disneyland. And for adults who actually enjoy going to Disneyland, get your head examined."

The backlash behind Disney's decision has the Internet prowling with criticism and confusion, especially since this is the second time this year that Disney has increased their admission costs.
