Group asks Abbott to apologize for campaigning with Nugent
A group of democratic state representatives are asking for an apology from Attorney General Greg Abbott for his choice in campaign help.
Earlier this week, rocker Ted Nugent joined Abbott at an event for Abbott's campaign for governor. He even called Abbott his "blood brother."
Now a group of lawmakers sent Abbott a letter, asking him to apologize to Texans for embracing Nugent.
The letter reads in part, "A little over a week ago in Dallas you announced plans that included steps you said will protect women in Texas from sexual trafficking. Yet, this week you campaigned with someone who has admitted to trying to gain the confidence of parents in pursuit of sexual relations with their young daughters."
