Blaze at Naperville home causes $200K in damage

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A house fire in an unincorporated area near west suburban Naperville Tuesday caused a partial collapse and nearly $200,000 in damage.

A passerby called 911 just after 2:30 p.m. after seeing flames in the window of the home in the 28W700 block of Wagner Road in unincorporated Will County, Naperville fire officials said in a release.

The fire in the single-story ranch home caused the floor and roof to partially collapse, the release said. The home sustained about $200,000 in damage.

No one was inside the home, and no one was hurt, the release said. No one lived at the home, but there had been reports of squatters inside the building recently.

Crews put the fire out just before 4:30 p.m., officials said.
