Bullying has lasting effects on mental health of children
Kids who are picked on by their peers may see effects of that bullying on their physical and mental wellbeing for years to come.
That's according to researchers who surveyed more than 4,000 children in the fifth, seventh and tenth grades.
Overall those who were bullied on a regular basis reported more physical problems than their peers and they also had more symptoms of depression and lower self-esteem. Kids who were chronically bullied had the lowest scores on physical and emotional health.
