Georgia companies make 'Top 100 Places to Work' list

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

For 17 years a research and consulting firm has partnered with "Fortune" magazine to come up with an annual list of the 'Top 100 Places To Work.'

There are four Georgia companies that made the list this year.

  • Alston & Bird, Atlanta, GA
  • Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Atlanta, GA
  • Wellstar Health System, Marietta, GA
  • Aflac, Columbus, GA

So what does it take to make the list?

Fortune looks for overall employee satisfaction, are you being paid fairly? What kind of benefits do you get? Are there perks? Some companies offer their employee fitness classes, dry cleaning, child care; do you trust your employer? Are they honest and ethical?

Legal Secretary Debbie Ritchie has been with Alston & Bird for 17 years.

"When I'm not at home with my husband and our kids, this is where I am, and it's nice to be happy where you are. I absolutely love this firm," Ritchie said.

And when employees, like Ritchie are happy, that usually leads to increased productivity and an ultimately increased bottom line.
