UPDATE: Public, Parochial Schools In Philly Closing Again Friday

PHILADELPHIA -

School District of Philadelphia schools will be closed again on Friday, and so will Archdiocese of Philadelphia schools within the city's limits.

Word came late Thursday afternoon.

CHECK: Complete Lists Of Reported School Closings

The public school system's says also closed will be all of its early-childhood and after-school programs.

Friday morning, the district issued an updated news release stating, "Administrative offices will open two hours late."

The general public and media are urged to monitor the District Web site at www.philasd.org for any updates. Updated information will also be posted on the District's Information Hotline at 215-400-INFO (4636).

The Archdiocese had this on Wednesday about schools in other communities: "Archdiocesan high schools and Catholic elementary schools in the suburban counties normally follow the decision of their corresponding local public school district and submit closure status independently."
