Video of rush hour police chase released

Posted: Updated:

Austin police recently released video of a wild police chase that occurred during rush hour traffic in March 2013. It started when officers attempted to pull over a stolen car.

Officers say the gold colored car seen in the video was reported stolen. According to police, 19-year-old Kaden Caro was driving. At one point in the video, Air One officers had been tracking him for ten minutes after he refused to stop for patrol officers.

Caro side-swiped a truck and then crashed. He ditched the wrecked car and ran down the highway. He was almost hit. He then went up to a truck and banged on the window in what police say was an attempt to car-jack them. Meanwhile, a bystander jumped out of their vehicle to chase him.

Caro leaps off the overpass and ran right into the path of police officers waiting to arrest him.

Caro was convicted and sentenced for driving the stolen car. After six months in jail he is again being sought by police. He has a warrant out his arrest for the felony evading charge.
