The Marc Jacobs pop-up shop where a Tweet gets you a fragrance sample

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Purses, perfume, and jewelry: every woman's paradise. This looks like your typical Marc Jacobs pop-up store in SoHo. But the currency here is social media.

Here's how it works: Customers use Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to promote the pop-up shop. Then in exchange, they get deluxe perfume samples.

People with the most creative posts, like Nadia Pagnotti, can also win handbags.

"I think it will catch on and other beauty companies will be like I should have thought of that," she says.

Shop girl Michelle Cusator says the guerilla marketing tactic was Jacobs' bright idea.

"Marc has such a strong social following that he wanted to give back to his fans so at the Daisy Marc Jacobs shop no dollars exchange hands," she says.

The pop-up shop, located at 462 West Broadway, is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day through Sunday, Feb. 9.

New York City women are tired of hearing vile things yelled at them as they walk down the street. Many women are going public about street harassment and catcalling. Some even post picture of their offenders on social media. Founded in 2005, Hollaback! is an anti-harassment organization giving women a platform to do just that.

Homeless people still sleep under the Manhattan Bridge, but others who used to camp out near its base have been displaced by police and are now calling Park Avenue South home. Park Avenue South sits in one of the trendiest parts of Manhattan, with businesses, restaurants, hotels, and swank lofts. It's also the street corner home base of Tommy Lanfranchi and his domestic partner Nicole Kilroy, who've been in a methadone program for 10 years.

An all-you-can-drink brunch special at a restaurant in the Flatiron District appears to be leading to some serious drunken behavior. Video of drunk people vomiting, urinating and falling down as they leave Pranna on Madison Ave. and 28th St. has gone viral. In one incident, a woman walks into the middle of street apparently trying to hail a cab. She walks back to the sidewalk, falls down and lies on her side.
