Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and several things are sure to happen: 1. you feel pressure to give the perfect gift or spend a great deal of money wining and dining your significant other; 2. you turn to chocolates, cards and stuffed animals to show your love to that special someone.

Skip the business of Valentine's Day, says Dr. Deepak Chopra if you really want to enjoy the day.

"The card makers and candy manufacturers, they are bamboozled by advertising," said Chopra.

For the world -renowned health expert, every day is Valentine's Day.

For the rest of us, it's a matter of changing your perspective in order to truly celebrate love.

""Find your timeless you. That’s your spirit. When you get to the core of your being, you stop time," said Dr. Chopra.

Forget doing something conspicuous on this day for your loved ones, but do the following:

Affection—showing them that you care

Attention-- deep listening to other people

Appreciation—noticing their strengths

Dr. Chopra shares more tips on the 'timeless you' on Grandparents.com.
