Auto door lock the latest in home automation

Posted: Updated:

Imagine being able to control the deadbolt lock on your front door from anywhere. It is now possible, and at the touch of your cell phone or tablet.

As we sit inside a newly built home in Hutto, Melissa Walker, with Protect America, is unlocking the front door from an app on her iPad. The automatic door lock by Yale Real Living operates on Cellular Z-Wave technology and doesn't require a key.

"It's the newest technology in home automation," said Walker. "You can just program your code, type it in and you're on your way."

The automatic door lock allows the owner to program up to 250 codes to lock/unlock the device. Walker says that allows for easy access to family and guests.

"It's perfect for your children and you'll know when they're safe inside because you can actually check on your smart connection app to see when they've entered the home," said Walker,

With the automatic door lock, you can never be locked out. Giving owners total control over access to their homes. And it can be easily installed on any door and integrated with a home security system.

"It's fully integratable with our Smart Connect app," said Walker. "You can look at your phone. You can lock and unlock your door just from your phone. You can use your tablet. So while you're at work and the kids are at home you can make sure that they're safe and sound."

Walker says the automatic door lock is affordable and can be easily self-installed.
